A Letter from Leadership

Howdy, fellow Denver Democrats!!

As we embrace the vibrant colors and unwavering spirit of Pride Month, it's crucial to reflect on the journey of the LGBTQIA+ community and the ongoing fight for equality. Pride Month is not only a time of celebration but also a reminder of the challenges that many still face in their pursuit of dignity, respect and equal rights.

For decades, the Democratic Party has been at the forefront of championing LGBTQIA+ rights, pushing for legislative reforms, and fostering inclusive communities where everyone is valued and accepted for who they are. From advocating for marriage equality to fighting against discrimination in housing, employment and healthcare, Democrats have consistently stood up for the rights of all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Now more than ever, it is vital to support progressive Democratic candidates, values and policies that promote diversity, equity and inclusion. By voting for progressive Democratic candidates, we can continue to advance LGBTQIA+ rights, protect marginalized communities, and create a more just and equitable society for all.

In our journey toward inclusivity, it's essential to acknowledge that transphobia and homophobia have no place in our party. Those who perpetuate discrimination against transgender and queer individuals do not align with Democratic values and are not welcomed in our space. We must unequivocally reject all forms of bigotry and discrimination, and stand firm in our commitment to creating a party and a society where every person is treated with dignity, respect and equality.

As we celebrate Pride Month, let us recommit ourselves to the fight for equality and justice. Let us stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ friends, family members and neighbors, and let us work together to build a brighter, more inclusive future for generations to come.

In solidarity,

Leah Dean (she/her)
